Perfectionism and social wellbeing in the university system of academic personnel management

The article attempts to present perfectionism and social wellbeing as two phenomena belonging to the social domain which are mutually interrelated. Perfectionism and social wellbeing in the U.S. and U.K. systems of higher education can be considered as social phenomena since they are determined by the policy of Ministry for Education in these countries and are implemented in the practice of personnel management of the most well-known universities. Perfectionism as a behavioral model results from social perception of the necessity to pursue rapid development, create strength margin, economic sustainability, future forecast – on the basis of experience accumulated by the previous generations. Perfectionism becomes evident in the practice of screening the best candidates for faculty positions, performance evaluation by the highest professional criteria, personnel motivation for advanced achievements. Social wellbeing is an important condition of faculty perfectionism. Being a complex phenomenon, social wellbeing embraces all aspects of human activity related to profession: physical, emotional, psychological, financial state, social roles, connections and relations. The sum total of those aspects creates opportunities for conducting successful professional activity. Social wellbeing provides basis for human capital development. Social wellbeing and perfectionism are interrelated phenomena: the former is the main value of social life, while the latter is a means and condition of achieving social wellbeing.

 

Criteria and indicators of the quality of work of pedagogical workers of institutions for orphans: practical recommendations

The article presents practical recommendations for improving the criteria and indicators of the quality of work of pedagogical workers in orphanages. Based on the content of the analysis and included observation for 5 years, the author developed criteria for the quality of the work of teachers in orphanages. The presented results can become the basis for the development of an action program to improve the labor activity of teaching staff: in the development of regulations on the procedure for remuneration, incentive payments, the introduction of effective contracts, etc. The theoretical provisions of the article can serve as the basis for the development of an action program aimed at improving the formation of the social and professional construct of the personality of pedagogical workers, as well as further scientific work with a similar subject of research and be used in the development of the theory of sociology of management.

Strategies for the survival of Russian households in the global pandemic: a resource base for survival

The coronavirus pandemic has acquired the character of a global disaster. It forces billions of people on Earth to look for ways to adapt and survive. The pandemic is also very painful in Russia. The population is poorly vaccinated. From the point of view of management, we fix the social situation as complex, unpredictable, uncertain and multidimensional. Such properties are possessed by VUCA systems. The paper attempts quantitative modeling of such systems. The task is reduced to SWOT modeling. The information base was interviews and surveys of students of the MBA programs of the Presidential Academy. It was revealed that during the year of the pandemic, the survival resources of Russian households decreased by a quarter. The search for survival resources is clearly focused on drunkenness, on the acquisition of mystical support and in gaining faith in God.

This article presents the interim results of a research project aimed at a comparative analysis of the social processes associated with the development of the COVID 19 pandemic in various national contexts. The authors present a comparative analysis of the possibilities of using AI technologies in the healthcare systems of four countries, highlighting similarities and differences for different national contexts.

Social factors of managerial decision-making at enterprises and organizations

The article analyzes the social factors that influence the development of economic decisions, and ultimately determine the strategy for enterprises development. Theoretically and empirically substantiated the influence on the process of making management decisions of such factors as: perception, business interaction, social expectations of personnel, professional personality recognition, social requirements, social motivations of a person in conjunction with the factor of self-awareness, factors of social partnership and social protection.

 

Analysis of risk factors in the people-oriented management system

Abstract. The article proposes a new scientific interpretation of social factors of uncertainty in the management of modern enterprises and organizations, the prerequisites of which are the value-motivational meanings of employees. In the context of human-centered management, social uncertainty is considered as one of the most significant risk-bearing factors in the management system. It has been theoretically and empirically proved that value-motivational meanings, setting the vector of an individual's behavior in a social and labor environment, can become a potential threat to the security of an enterprise. In social practice, such threats are embodied in such phenomena as: violations of labor discipline and technological discipline, conflict of relationships in a team, a decrease in staff involvement and the formation of a detached view, etc.

The article examines the main problems of self-knowledge, self-development and self-search of youth in modern conditions of socio-economic development of Russia, identifies the directions of activating the intellectual abilities of young people in professional and social activities.

 

Intercultural competence and cultural integration of migrants in a large Russian city (on the materials of St. Petersburg)

The article is devoted to the technique of cultural assimilator as a tool for the development of intercultural competence of migrants. The methodology proposed in the 1980s-1990s by cross-cultural psychologists G. Trindis, K. Cushner, and R. Brislin was adapted to the specifics of acculturation in a large Russian city. Research on the construction of cultural assimilators was carried out in 2009 in St. Petersburg and in the following years was tested in work with Russian and foreign students, various groups of migrants in various settings.

 

Influence of innovative economy on socio-political attitudes of Russian students

An innovative economy has a strong influence on the value orientations of modern student youth, it forces young people to develop "flexible" skills, but at the same time maintain a high value in the labor market due to specific competencies. The article examines the process of forming new values among young people in the context of this influence.

Further modernization of public services in Russia requires assessment of its current results. This work offers a comprehensive approach to develop both the assessment methodology and a communicative environment that creates an effective demand for evaluation results. The article considers the principle of modern basing of a social package based on a flexible set of additional bonuses in the form of a Cafeteria of benefits. The results of a sociological study reflecting the preferential preferences of employees of a credit institution in relation to available and desired benefits in order to ensure the long-term employment relationship and increase loyalty to the company are presented.

Perception of the future and individual’s biographic project

The article examines the problems of sociological study of ideas about the future in the context of an individual's biographical project. It is shown that the individual's ideas about his/her own future in modern socio-cultural conditions are an important component of his social identity. A brief review of empirical researches confirms that the perception of the future is one of the important factors of motivation of individuals, as well as in their professional adaptability. A short overview of methods aimed at studying the individual's ideas about the future is given and their significance for applied research is indicated.

Based on the analysis of the literature, the article provides information about the traditionally distinguished types of professional and social communications and their specifics. A complex typology of modern communications in organizations is proposed: a brief description of them is given, examples are presented. The role of the development of these types of communications in the management of enterprises and organizations is described.

Communication barriers between the executive authority and the population in St. Petersburg

Based on a pilot study, the article analyzes the correlation between the degree of satisfaction with the activities of the executive authorities represented by the committees of St. Petersburg and the level of communication between the committees and residents of the city. The author makes a special emphasis on the role of a modern sociologist: it is emphasized that he must not only be an independent agent of interaction between society and power, but also must contribute to the establishment of cyclical communication between the executive power and the population of the city. In conclusion, a number of recommendations are given to help eliminate communication barriers between the government and society, which will lead both to an increase in the effectiveness of the policy aimed at a qualitative improvement in the life of St. Petersburgers, and to a general improvement in the social mood of the urban population.

A huge amount of information is now freely available, and it is very difficult not to use the opportunity to find out the answer on the Internet in a short time. Teenagers are most under this influence. They can find everything in the computer: from modern games with realistic graphics, to a media player and books. This opportunity has a huge impact on the formation of the personality of modern children and adolescents. Nevertheless, gadgets are definitely an integral part of our life. They are the ones who open up a world of huge opportunities for us. However, they also have negative consequences for humans, the main of which is computer addiction. The article is devoted to the study of the executive authorities activities reflected in the assessment by residents of St. Petersburg, which was conducted within the framework of the project "Students to the City" of the Department of Sociology and Personnel Management of St. Petersburg State Economic University. The article examines the management of education in the context of regional development, what is education management and how it affects the development of regions in Russia. A statistical analysis has been carried out over the past 10 years of graduation of students with a certificate of secondary general education and with a certificate of basic general education, admission to bachelor's degree, specialty, master's degree programs, and it is determined which factors influenced the dynamics of each question.

The article defines the role of HR analytics in making managerial decisions in an organization. The features of modern HR analytics are revealed. Examples of the use of HR analytics by domestic and foreign companies for solving various management tasks are given. The research devoted to HR analytics of such companies as Deloitte, KPMG, SHL Russia, etc. is analyzed. The article identifies the advantages of analytics in making managerial decisions, as well as the difficulties faced by domestic companies in conducting HR analysis.
